What does the flat rate cover?
The flat rate covers all labor and parts needed for a normal repair. If the repair is complicated due to physical damage or abuse, power surge, or improper maintenance or repair, or if entire circuit boards or assemblies need to be replaced, an estimate will be given.
What does the "limit" mean?
The "Limit" is the average cost of repair for that particular equipment type. If you accept the "Limit" you authorize us to repair your unit up to that dollar amount. If we determine that the repair will exceed the "Limit" we will stop and give you a repair estimate.
What is your guarantee?
We guarantee any repairs or adjustments made by United Radio under manufacturers warranty for 90 days. Repairs performed out of manufacturers warranty are guaranteed for 1 year on automotive products, 6 months on all other products. Repairs on commercial products are guaranteed for 90 days in or out of warranty.
What does my warranty cover?
Manufacturers warranties cover repairs needed due to manufacturing defects or part failure. Physical damage, abuse, improper use, or unauthorized or improper previous repairs are not coverd.
If I sent my warranty card to the manufacturer will my repair be done in warranty?
Most manufacturers require a copy of the bill of sale be sent along with your unit to validate that the unit is under warranty. If you sent your warranty card to the manufacturer it may allow you to request an authorization for repair if you have lost your bill of sale. If your unit was a gift, contact the manufacturer to determine what information is needed to obtain a warranty repair as each manufacturer has different policies.
Can you exchange my unit instead of repairing it?
We do not exchange units instead of repairing them. Under certain circumstances such as back ordered parts or a technically complex repair, a manufacturer may provide an exchange of your unit if it is under warranty.
Can I speak to the technician?
Our technicians are specialists for the type of equipment that each one repairs and are dedicated to providing our customers with the best and fastest repairs possible. As such, technicians do not take calls from customers. Our customer service specialists will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have or will contact you if more information is needed for your repair.
Can I get technical assistance from UR?
We do not provide technical assistance. Our focus is repairing your unit quickly and correctly. We encourage you to call the manufacturer in question or visit their website to obtain technical assistance. We will be glad to provide you with manufacturers phone numbers if you call us.
Will I be contacted if the technician has questions about my repair?
If the technician needs further information from you our Customer Service Specialists will attempt to contact you by phone. If that is unsuccessful a letter will be sent requesting you to contact us concerning your repair. You may check on the status of your repair online to learn if any information is needed.
How long do repairs take?
Most repairs are completed in 1 to 5 days if parts are not needed. If parts need to be ordered an additional 7-10 business days are added to the repair time. If an estimate is made or the technician needs more information, additional time will be necessary.
If my unit is under parts warranty will you send me the parts so I can do the repair myself?
We do not sell parts or diagnose repairs for other parties.
Do you have parts in stock?
United Radio stocks the most frequently used parts for the equipment we service. We continuously monitor parts usage and adjust our inventory accordingly.
If parts have to be ordered can I have them overnighted?
If you wish to have the parts for your repair sent overnight we will be glad to request that service for you. The cost of overnight shipping will be added to the charges for the repair.
Do you sell parts?
With the exception of Eclipse, we do not sell parts.
Who pays for shipping my unit?
You are responsible for shipping charges to get your unit to us. Some manufacturers do not pay for return shipping on warranty repairs and if so you will be charged accordingly. All units repaired out of warranty will have shipping charges added to the repair bill.
What extended warranties do you honor?

Can I purchase an extended warranty from you?
United Radio does not sell or endorse any extended warranties. Contact the retailer you purchased your unit from for extended warranty availability. You may also search the web for extended warranties you can purchase.
Do I need an RA?
We do not require a Return Authorization for repairs. An RO # will be issued if you use our on line tag in service on the Ship In Service page.
When will you notify me of the repair status or any problems with my repair?
Your repair status is available on this website by clicking the Repair Status Inquiry tab above. You may call us at 1-800-634-8606 to obtain status information. We will only contact you if we need to obtain more information or if an estimate has been made for your repair.
How do I package my unit to ship to you?
Packaging instructions will be displayed if you use the Ship In Service function above. You may also view packaging instructions by following this link.
How can I get a shipping label to ship my unit to you?
You can print a shipping label by clicking on this link.
My repair form didn't print correctly and is gone. Can I generate another one?
The form generated by our on line tag in process cannot be re-generated. You may print a blank form by following this link. When we receive your unit we will use the serial # to match up with the information you already entered.
Do you sell repaired units?
